Patterns and Plugs for Fiberglass Tooling, Composite Layups, and Foundry Castings
Matrix Enterprises produces CNC machined patterns and plugs for fiberglass layups, composite tooling, and foundry castings. The patterns and plugs, also referred to as masters and bucks, are typically machined for high precision of surfaces and features including hole location, registration geometry, and end-of-part (EOP) lines. Common applications include:
- SPA, shower, and bath masters
- Aerospace applications
- Radomes and Electronics housings
- Tooling for vehicles like wheel wells and bumpers,
- Concrete castings
Depending on the application, weight, and surface finish requirements, Matrix typically fabricates patterns from several types of materials. Some common materials include.
- Urethane Tooling Boards and Foam
- High temp tooling boards (for high temp and/or pressure cures)
- MDF (Bare Finish and Primer coated/Mold Ready)
Matrix Enterprises can create the composite tooling and foundry patterns from customer supplied CAD models or create the pattern or plug from your part files. Matrix has full finishing and painting capabilities. We can provide the patterns and plugs in a variety of finished states starting from a machined/bare finish all the way to fully primed and mold-ready surfaces.
