Touch Free Inspection
While the CMM hard probe provides one method of verification, touch free inspection using a laser scanner offers many additional benefits. By utilizing a laser scanner we can easily capture millions of points ensuring full surface coverage and a superior reading for specific GD&T requirements like surface profile. Touch free inspection is also more appropriate for lightweight, delicate, or flexible materials that can be subject to damage, movement, or other disruptions due to physical contact of the hard probe.
Matrix works with many non-conventional and delicate materials that are often deployed in thermal protection systems or in other lightweight structural core applications. In these cases touch-free laser scanning provides the perfect combination of inspection coverage and significantly reduces the chance of damage to delicate parts and materials.
