Urethane and Silicone RTV castings are an effective way to quickly produce small quantities of molded parts without the need for expensive injection molding tooling. It's also an effective method for reproducing existing plastic parts that are custom, low-volume, or are no longer in production.
Urethane and Silicone Cast Parts can be an excellent solution for:
- Low volume and small quantities of repeat parts
- Reproducing existing custom parts
- Parts for testing
- First run parts
- Replicating 3D printed parts for cost savings and/or additional material properties.
There are also a wide variety of materials available for cast urethane and silicone parts. Highly rigid materials are available as well as elastomers for parts that need flexibility. Other properties such fire retardant materials that meet the UL 94 V0 standard are available as well as UV stabilized additives for outdoor applications. Additionally, the color of the parts can be customized using color tints.
